Meet Our Team
St Benedict’s is built on the strength of family. As a multigenerational team, we bring together international healthcare experience, decades of hands-on caregiving, and a shared commitment to creating a home where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine warmth.

Founder
Dr Benjamin Stanciu, MD
Ben was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho, and is proud to be returning home with his family. He studied medicine at Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, and is a registered doctor in the United Kingdom; he has vast experience across all medical specialties, with a special interest in palliative medicine, looking after patients with complex symptom management in their last years of life. Outside of work, he enjoys nature photography, staying active through sports such as tennis, padel, volleyball, and soccer, as well as hiking, camping, and traveling — interests that reflect his appreciation for balance, wellbeing, and connection with the outdoors.

Co-Founder
Mrs Sheena Stanciu, RN
Sheena was raised in the Philippines and brings a rich international perspective to St Benedict’s. She trained and worked as a cardiac and critical care nurse in the United Kingdom and is a registered nurse in the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Her years of caring for patients and supporting families during vulnerable moments have shaped the gentle, attentive presence she brings into our home each day. She loves hiking, cooking traditional Filipino meals to share around the table, and traveling to new places — passions that reflect her belief that care begins with connection, nourishment, and a welcoming home.

Advisor/Substitute Carer
Mrs Mihaela Stanciu, CNA
Mihaela was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, and has called the United States home for more than 35 years. With over three decades of experience as a CNA working in a certified family home, she brings invaluable wisdom, steady guidance, and a deep understanding of what it means to care for others in a home setting. As our advisor and substitute caregiver, she offers both practical experience and the reassurance that comes from a lifetime devoted to compassionate service. She enjoys cooking and baking for those around her, as well as knitting — simple joys that reflect her nurturing spirit and love of creating comfort for others.
